MARRAKECH – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – ROSES & VALLEY DADES
Early morning start from your hotel in Marrakech to take the road of Ouarzazate crossing the scenic cedar forests of High Atlas Mountains, driving through Tizi-n-Tichka passing through some Kasbahs and traditional Berber villages, continuing to drive on the mountains, Where you will be able to admire the landscapes and the villages perched along the valleys and above rivers.
A few hours later on the Atlas Mountains, we will arrive at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO restored World Heritage Site. While visiting the Kasbah we will stop for lunch near, and then continue driving towards Ouarzazate, which is located at the crossroads of the great enchanting valleys of the South, you will visit the Atlas studios and the Kasbah of Taourirt where many films have been shot. Afterwards, we will continue to Skoura, Roses Valley and then to Dades where we will spend the night in a very nice Kasbah.
Day 2
DADES – TODRA GORGES – EL JORF – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
Breakfast at your hotel, we will start on the second day of our journey to the Sahara Desert, through the Oasis, the valleys and the old Berber villages. Our first stop today will be on a panoramic view of the Dades valley before arriving to Todra Gorges. We will continue driving to Tenhir, Tinjdad, Jorf.
You will have lunch in a Berber village, as the last paved road ends at the edge of the oasis town of Erfoud. We will continue our way to Merzouga, We will go to a hotel in Merzouga where you can leave your big suitcase behind and instead bring a backpack or small overnight bag with you to the desert. We will have camels waiting to take you into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes; you will spend the night in desert encampment near the village of Merzouga and the legendary dunes of Erg Chebbi. From here, you can climb the dunes to watch the glorious sunset. A traditional Berber dinner will be prepared for you at the encampment. After dinner, you will be at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the Saharan sky and the magnificence of your surroundings.
Day 3
DESERT OF MERZOUGA – ALNIF – N’KOB – AGDZ – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
Continue your adventure as you explore the legendary dunes of Erg Chebbi. Perhaps the largest dunes in the Sahara, they are constantly shifting with the considerable desert winds. Witness the sun rising from the east over the desert dunes–one of Morocco’s greatest sights; we will ride the camels to Merzouga.
After breakfast and shower in the hotel, on the way back we will choose the south road towards Alnif. Landscape surrounded by Anti Atlas Mountains reminds bushes of Africa.
Reaching Ouarzazaten around noon, we will stop for lunch on site and we will continue our journey to Marrakech.
